A Beautiful Building in Boyle Heights
I was walking down 1st St. in Boyle Heights the other day. I walked passed this gorgeous building that needed to be photographed before getting demolished. (At least, rumor has it that that is the case. Does anybody actually know?)

A few close ups:

  Shepard Fairey in Action
"We were driving by and saw him out there so i asked him if he minded if i took some pics. he said "not at all". what a nice guy. "

The finished product:

This (legal) mural is close to the corner of La Brea and Melrose, on the East side of the street.

  Cantinflas Mural
Over the past few months I have gotten about a dozen hits of people google searching Cantinflas and about three hits of people googling for murals of Cantinflas. People find this blog when they google Cantinflas because of this entry.

(Actually, people have found this site by googling the mispelling "Cantiflas" instead of the correct spelling "Cantinflas".)

There is a mural of Cantinflas in Los Angeles. At Hollywood High, on the corner of Selma and Highland:

I was facing west when I took the picture. And you can tell that I took this picture in the afternoon because of the obnoxious light blur on the top left.

A close up. Cantinflas is the center piece!

Close to the Sunset Junction in Silverlake
A few months ago:

The wall facing north: The Five Dollar Guy painting something.

About a month or two ago:

The wall facing north: something chronologically confusing.

The wall facing west: more chronological confusement.

Now:

The wall facing north: Visual Narcotics.

The wall facing west:
The same. Except there are chairs piled up against the wall.

Boyle Heights, St. Louis and 1st St.
I was walking down 1st St. a few weeks ago. I came across a boxing center with this mural on the outside:

It looks much better in person.

A few close ups:

On another side of the building I found this:

The mural is by Ernesto de la Loza. Additional information on the mural can be found here.

  Blue and Pink
At the abandoned industrial building on 2nd St. in downtown, just a little east of Alameda:

I am a sucker for pink graffiti:

20 mg and the Hollywood Sign
I went up to the Hollywood sign for the first time a few weeks ago. Here is a nice shot of Visual Narcotics and the Hollywood sign:

I even saw some shoes dangling on some phone wires as well:

  Outside of Wacko's
One of my favorite places to visit in this city is La Luz De Jesus Gallery (located inside) on Hollywood Blvd. Here are some shots of the building exterior:

Here are a few pictures of stencils on the sidewalk that I found there a few weeks ago:

  Ducky
Nothing like breathing cuteness into an abandoned building like painting a picture of an adorable little duck!

  Boyle Heights Sign Post
Walking West on 1st St. in Boyle Heights the other day and I came across this mysterious picture:

  Mouse Trap
I saw this on the corner of Sunset and Cahuenga the other day. It is right by the Jack in the Box parking lot:

See those two pennies on the upper left side?

Walking a few feet further, I noticed another pair of pennies:

Walking a few feet further, I noticed only ONE penny:

And then finally, two pennies again (you can see these two pennies from a distance on the previous photo):

I have no idea what the story is. This is probably my most puzzling find so far. Ah so many questions!

  American Hotel Mural
Hey remember Ms. T's ties?

There is this gorgeous mural at The American Hotel, across the street from the tie pole on Hewitt St.

Here is my favorite close up:

The last post I made about The American Hotel was this one.

  Mysterious Character
I have seen this mysterious character around town lately.

On the sidewalk on 2nd St in Downtown:

and Underneath Amoeba Music:

I am 5'2 (kinda short) with a rather crap zoom lens, hence its kind of hard for me to take good pics of small objects high up.

Also, I found this on cee3's flickr:
